President Obama also personally congratulated the rapper on Twitter narrating how Jay Z has been a bundle of inspiration.
Hov as he is also known headed to microblogging site Twitter (which he hardly uses) to personally thank over 90 rappers who have inspired him in his enviable music career journey.
Jay gave shout outs to every rapper, both from his era and the present from Biggie to Tupac, Tyler, the creator, Playboi Carti and " Magnolia incredible."
New rappers like Drake, Chance The Rapper, Lauryn Hill, Nicki Minaj, Kanye, Andre 3000, Lil Wayne, Queen Latifah, Nas among others were acknowledged as well.
President Obama also joined the party, shouting out Jay Z, giving instances of when Jay Z's lyrics came in handy for him, and also comparing his wife Michelle and Jay's wife Beyonce as two significant women being arguably more popular than their husbands he and Jay.

Hov's acceptance speech was delivered by his friend and CEO of Warner/Chappell Music Publishing, Jon Platt.
Jay Z's proud mum Gloria Carter also wrote a letter to her son congratulating him as well as Beyonce's mum Tina Knowles Lawson.
The letter from his mum wrote "You're an inspiration to your family and friends," she wrote in a message which was included in the program for attendees of Thursday night's induction. "You're an amazing husband and father. I'm truly blessed and honored that God chose me to be your mother. Congratulations, my son, on your achievements. Continue to make a positive impact on the world so that we can all live together in peace. Love you for life."
Mama Carter's message was also accompanied by a note from Beyoncé's mom, Tina Knowles Lawson, declaring, "What we're most proud of is the husband, father, son and the man you've become."
As earlier reported, Jay Z has become the first rapper ever to be inducted into the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame cabinet.
