2. His great grand father the Reverend Canon Josiah Jesse Ransom-Kuti was the first gospel musician in Nigeria.

4. The Prince of afrobeat began playing the saxophone in his father's band Egypt 80 at the age of 15.

5. He created his own band called the Positive Force in 1986.

6. Motown RecordsTabu released his first record in 1995.

7. He has been nominated for Grammy Awards' World Music Category four times. In 2003, 2010, 2011 and 2013 respectively.

8. He has worked with several American artists and musicians. On his ‘Fight to Win’ album, he features Common and Mos Def (now known as Yasiin Bey). On the remake of his father’s song ‘Water No Get Enemy’, he worked with D’Angelo, Macy Grey, The Soultronics, Roy Hargrove, and Nile Rodgers.
