“I don’t want people to tell my story for me”

In the interview on the Afropolitan Vibes podcast, the singer clarifies the misconception of his art and talks about finding confidence in his music.

Singer-songwriter Brymo reveals that his albums are a documentary of his experiences. In an interview on the Afropolitan Vibes podcast with Ade Bantu, “The Son of a Carpenter” shares the idea behind his albums.

“I want to be old and listen to the albums and tell my story, I don’t want people to tell my story for me”, he said.

The singer shares he wasn’t ready when he dropped his first two albums. He said, “I consider the first albums as me still looking for my voice, me still finding my ground”.

The vocalist has released four albums till date. His most recent album “Tabula Rasa” was released in 2014. The 'Ara' crooner was once signed to Chocolate City records. He left the label in 2013 when issues surrounding his contract surfaced.
