Zambia's kwacha firmed more than one percent on Monday, rising alongside fellow commodity-linked currencies boosted by a return of risk sentiment as investors pushed back bets of an interest rate hike by the United States central bank.

At 0725 GMT the kwacha gained 1.02 percent against dollar to 9.6900.
