Nasarawa State government said on Sunday that January salary of the state workers currently embarking on strike action is ready for payment.

Also, the government said it has met 21 demands of its state workers, urging them to resume work.

The head of civil service in the state, Joseph Ancho who stated this during a press conference, added  that they would pay hundred percent of the salaries and implement promotion of workers from 2011 to 2016.

"In the course of negotiations with labour, government made far-reaching concessions on the 21-point demands made by labour. Unfortunately however, the labour side was adamant in their refusal to reciprocate concessions made by government in the spirit of collective bargaining" Ancho said.

Pulse gathered that the state government has promised upward review of monthly release of gratuity and pension,  readiness to implement the corrected consolidated medical salary structure (CONMESS) and stoppage of percentage payment of salaries to workers at the third tiers. The Nigeria Labour Congress and other union in the state are yet to shift grounds
