The Kenyan shilling was steady against the dollar on Tuesday but was expected to come under pressure from a slight uptick in importer demand, traders said.

At 0748GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 101.20/40 to the dollar, compared to 101.15/35 at Tuesday's close.
