The Kenyan shilling was stable on Monday due to a general slowdown in dollar demand, with some market players staying on the sidelines anticipating better rates, traders said.

At 1037 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 101.35/55 to the dollar, unchanged from Friday's close.

The shilling was steady on Friday, with traders saying dollar demand from importers in the energy sector was matched by supply from non-governmental organisations.
