Committee requests presence of ex petroleum minister over crude oil swap

Reports indicates that Diezani Alison-Madueke, the former Minister of Petroleum Resources has been invited by the House of Representatives Adhoc Committee on Crude Oil Swap to explain her role in the product swap arrangements with oil marketing companies in the country.

Recent reports indicates that Diezani Alison-Madueke, the former Minister of Petroleum Resources has been invited by the House of Representatives Adhoc Committee on Crude Oil Swap to explain her role in the product swap arrangements with oil marketing companies in the country.

According to a letter has been sent through the Group Managing Director of (NNPC) requesting for the presence of the former minister on March 2.

The letter is reportedly dated February 22, 2016 and was signed by the Chairman of the committee, Zakari Mohammed.

Diezani has been asked to come along with important documents like a full brief on all swap arrangements, a proof of (FEC) approval, NNPC board resolution on the contract, evidence of the approval limit of the board as well as that of the Minister of Petroleum, the GMD and any other document that could assist the committee and a proof of ongoing and expired.

Previously, former Group Managing Directors of NNPC were summoned by the committee to explain their roles during the crude oil swap regime.

Committee investigations have revealed sundry breaches and illegal companies.
