The record label which boasts of an able financier is usually in the headlines but not for the number of fast-selling songs from their production house. It is either because one of their artistes is feigning his death, or another one is making a scene of his exit from the label.
Why 5 Star Music Group should not be taken seriously
5 star music is perhaps more successful at creating distractions in the music industry than the number of good songs that they put up.

The other day, one of them was caught in a scandal of living a fake social media life. The same five star music artiste was the one who shot a video to a musical that has no title. Yet these guys do not want to be called actors, they'd prefer to be called artistes. But artistes are supposed to be popular for the music they make and not the drama.
One must admit that Kcee and other 5 star music artistes make colourful and interesting musical videos that compliments their ostentatious displays at functions and on social media, but really, what content does their music carry? How do they inspire the people they are supposed to be making the music for?
I really cannot think of many Kcee singles that is not about Baby, sweetie, sugar or honey. The best that I have heard from the record label has to be from Harry Song and even that, they no longer have. Harry song has left the label for Alter Plate, all that is left of 5 star music is Kcee, Skiibii and Xbusta. I seriously do not expect much from this lineup, except a serious agenda is pushed.
You might argue that they are still one of the biggest record labels around, but you'd be humbled by the fact that a lot of the goodwill 5 star music enjoys can be attributed to the philanthropic gestures and the glitz of E-money and his boys. Not the chart-topping songs, not the number of awards they have accrued.
Their fancy videos, their benevolence and their flashy show on social media, helps them in growing their celebrity status. Yes, there is money, we know. But if you are going to refer to a record label as successful, it has to be known for the quality of records it markets, the quality of artistes it recruits and how their talents are developed. Part of their responsibility should include copyright enforcement.
5 star music group is not the best at any of these. What they sell best are fake stories, publicity stunts and camera poses. So why take them seriously? Except of course, 5 star music group is not a record label, perhaps a club of rich guys who are always having house parties.
