When will this discrimination stop?

This discrimination of a thing is everywhere; in churches, schools, homes, neighbourhoods etc.
I remember one time when I went to a church for something and the pastor startled me with his statement.
It was time for offering and instead of the offering bag to be passed around or the congregation to come forward to drop their offering, he said that those with denominations of 1000 naira and above should come forward.
He said he was going to bless them. When I looked around me, I realised that more than half of the church couldn’t come out to receive ‘God’s blessing’.
It broke my heart because by mere looking at them, you could tell that they were actually poor.
I was so angry that I almost shouted at the pastor but held my peace. Why would a so-called man of God do that?
Why would he make it clear that he was on the rich people’s side? I thought the church is supposed to be a place where everyone is equal?
I also remember one time in school when a mass communication student was deprived of her role in a play simply because she didn’t meet the social standard of the person in charge.
She worked so hard for that role and a couple of days to the play; it was taken away from her.
When she asked why she was told she didn’t fit the role because that’s not how she is in real life.
I remember when my friend’s sister was not given a promotion because she is a female. If there is one I don’t support, it is gender inequality. I do not support it and never will.
Are some jobs meant for men and others for women? The last time I checked there is this saying that ‘what a man can do, a woman can do better’, so why the discrimination?
I remember hearing stories of how parents in certain areas of this country felt it was unimportant for the female child to go to school.
How they felt her role is to just get married, cook and bear children like she is nothing but a hen.
Thank God I wasn’t born then I probably would have had three kids by now. Why was this so? What is so special in the male child?
Call it whatever you want but it is wrong. It makes people think less of themselves, gives room for low self-esteem.
Ever wondered why people commit suicide? Sometimes it is because they feel they are not good enough. Like they are rejected by everyone and in most cases, they can’t help themselves.
I will fight for what is right no matter what. Everyone should be treated equally. There is really no difference between you and the person next to you except, maybe, gender.
What else could possibly be different? IQ? Complexion? Put yourself in the person’s shoes and ask yourself how you would feel if you were treated that way.
Stop discriminating others and help people have a good impression about themselves._______________________________
