Uganda will on August 4 play host to Seedstars World, the global seed-stage startup competition for emerging markets and fast-growing startup scenes.
These are the 9 start-ups selected to pitch at Seedstars World Kampala
Seedstars World aims at finding the best startup in emerging markets and promote entrepreneurship and technology.
This will be the third time that the initiative, launched by Swiss-based company, Seedstars SA, will be returning to the East African country.
“Seedstars World is a platform connecting investors to the next generation of startup entrepreneurs, pulling the spotlight from Silicon Valley and Western Europe. As this will be our 3rd time to organize our event in Kampala, our excitement level and expectations are high,” said Fanny Dauchez, Associate for Africa at Seedstars World.
The objective of the competition is to find the best startup in emerging markets and promote entrepreneurship and technology.
It covers more than 75 countries and seeks to identify the best seed-stage entrepreneurs as well as offer them with an opportunity to win up to $ 500 000. The entrepreneurs are also given a chance to network with investors and mentors from around the world.
The event will take place at Outbox Hub with the startups expected to pitch to a panel of judges. The top startup will be declared the most promising startup in Uganda in 2017, and will be invited to pitch at the global stage.
