"ESPN is paying a really big price for its politics (and bad programming). People are dumping it in RECORD numbers. Apologize for untruth!" Trump tweeted.

Jemele Hill, a cohost of "SC6," the hour-long 6 p.m. "SportsCenter," tweeted on Monday night that Trump was "a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists." Hill also wrote that Trump's election had empowered white supremacists.

When asked about the comments during Wednesday's press briefing, the White House press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, called the comments "outrageous" and said she believed them to be a "fireable offense."
