Ghana’s national football team captain,Asamoah Gyan has for the past five years been a fixture on best paid footballer lists during stints in the United Arab Emirates and  China.

With a world wide appeal based on his incredible World Cup record, Gyan was always able to negotiate mouth watering deals that baffled money watchers in the game.

At Al Ain in the U.A.E he was paid a staggering $250,000 a week during a hugely successful four year stint. In all he is reported to have earned a staggering $40 million dollars in wages while breaking all goal scoring records in the country.

His next money move came at the behest of ex England manager Sven Goran Ericsson as he moved to Chinese Super League team Shanghai SIPG in 2015 ;his salary an even more staggering $350,000 a week.

His new gig in Turkey however will not bring him that kind of cash. With a history of injuries and poor form over the past years, Gyan was always going to struggle to find another club that would take a risk on him and still pay the wages he is used to.

At Kayserispor, he is reported to be earning a modest $1.7 million dollars a year. That works up to roughly about $141,000 a month.

Quite the cut but with Gyan, expect the unexpected.
