Trump Tower is reportedly being evacuated

Trump Tower in New York City was evacuated on Tuesday afternoon, after a "suspicious package" was found in the lobby of the building, according to authorities.

Shortly after 5pm local time, NYPD reported that the situation at Trump Tower was "all clear."

The NYPD Bomb Squad is currently responding to the situation "out of an abundance of caution", NYPD Assistant Commissioner for Communication & Public Information J. Peter Donald wrote on Twitter.

A source at the New York Police Department reportedly told WPIX reporter Myles Miller that the evacuation was sparked by "a suspicioius package."

President-elect Donald Trump is currently in Florida.

Trump Tower is a 58-story skyscraper located in Midtown Manhattan on Fifth Avenue between 56th and 57th streets. The skycraper is currently used as the headquarters for the Trump Organization, houses the primary residence of President-elect Donald Trump, and has been the primary site of Trump's presidential transition efforts since his November election victory.
