Keith Schiller, President Donald Trump's longtime bodyguard and confidante, made regular trips to McDonald's to pick up meals for the president both on the campaign trail and in the White House, Politico reported in a Monday profile of Schiller.

When Trump was dissatisfied with the White House kitchen staff's imitation of a McDonald's cheeseburger, Schiller — officially the director of Oval Office operations — would make runs to a McDonald's on New York Avenue in Washington, DC to pick up a Quarter Pounder or two with cheese, no pickles and extra ketchup, with a fried apple pie.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Schiller would grab Egg McMuffins or burgers and fries at the McDonald's near the Marine Air Terminal in Queens, delivering them to Trump in his limo.

Before leaving the White House in September, Schiller reportedly served as a conduit between Trump and his associates outside the White House, reliably delivering information and news stories to the president before Trump's new chief of staff, John Kelly, implemented new restrictions on Schiller's role.

Schiller is the subject of media attention this week as he is being interviewed on Tuesday by the House Intelligence Committee as part of its investigation into Russian meddling in last year's election.

The former head of security at Trump Tower, Schiller will likely be asked about the president's 2013 trip to Moscow to attend the Miss Universe pageant, a visit that is at the center of an explosive dossier of allegations compiled by veteran British spy Christopher Steele.
