President Donald Trump began his Wednesday by continuing his days-long Twitter rant centered on the ongoing Russia investigation, this time questioning why Attorney General Jeff Sessions was not investigating former President Barack Obama and his administration in relation to the probe.

"Question: If all of the Russian meddling took place during the Obama Administration, right up to January 20th, why aren’t they the subject of the investigation?" Trump asked. "Why didn’t Obama do something about the meddling? Why aren’t Dem crimes under investigation? Ask Jeff Session! [sic]"

It was Trump's latest comment related to the investigation since Friday, when Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein announced special counsel Robert Mueller's indictments against 13 Russians related to their alleged roles in meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

While those indictments did not contain allegations that any Americans knowingly participated in the alleged crimes, the indictments showed that the Russian effort was geared toward steering voters to Trump and away from 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

At multiple points during his lengthy tweetstorm on the subject, Trump targeted Obama for not responding adequately to the election interference and repeatedly claimed that the indictments vindicated him and his campaign from any possible connection to Russians who were meddling in the election, which they did not.

Wednesday also marked the latest time Trump has gone after Sessions, who recused himself from all matters related to Russia and the 2016 presidential campaign. Trump has been frustrated with Sessions' recusal on the matter, and has publicly berated him since last summer.
