President Donald Trump cast an absentee ballot last month for Tuesday's election in New York, NY1 reported.

It was not clear, however, who Trump voted for in the key elections and issues on the ballot, such as New York City mayor and whether to hold a constitutional convention, an issue presented on the ballot every 20 years.

First lady Melania Trump also voted absentee in the New York election. It was not clear how she voted either.

It would seem unlikely that Trump would cast a vote to reelect Democratic New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio — the overwhelming favorite over Republican candidate Nicole Malliotakis. Trump has repeatedly blasted the mayor during de Blasio's first term in office.

"We're stuck with the worst mayor in the United States," Trump tweeted in 2015. "Too bad, but New York City will survive!"

In 2013, just before de Blasio was elected mayor, Trump tweeted that he "predicted two years ago" that de Blasio would become mayor.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told Business Insider in an email that she could confirm Trump did vote in the election, but did not say how he voted.
