Funke Akindele becomes the most followed female-Nigerian celebrity on Instagram

She now has 4 million followers on Instagram, which shows expansion of her fan base.

Funke Akindele-Bello, popularly known as Jenifa, has reached 4 million followers on the social media platform - Instagram. This made her be the most followed female Nigerian celebrity and third most Nigerian celebrity on Instagram.

Davido has a 5 million followers and Wizkid with 4.2 million followers. This made Davido the most followed Nigerian celebrity on Instagram.

For Jenifa, she uses her Instagram account to uploaded snippets of her upcoming movies and series of Jenifa's Dairy. Thus, granting her fans and followers an opportunity to see behind the scenes of some of her projects.

Other actresses with large followers and active social media activities include Genevieve Nnaji (3.1 million followers) and Mercy Aigbe (2.6 million).

She also uses it to give an occasional inside look at her life when she isn’t in front of a camera or on set.

Funke's first Instagram post was on 21 January 2013 and has only 295 likes with 39 comments. But now almost 5 years later, she is able to gain an average of 20,000 likes per post and at least 100 comments.
