All you should know about Nigeria’s concession of its two most commercially viable and busiest airports
It is believed that this move would help transform the airports to international standards.
The two airports are the busiest and commercially viable airports in the country.
“I am pleased to say that the federal executive council (FEC) has approved the concessioning of the Lagos and Abuja airports,” Osinbajo said.
There is a few information about the whole process and the potential concessioners. Though, the government has hinted it is considering the move since June 2016.

According to local media, the government had constituted two committees – project steering committee and project delivery committee for the process.
Mr Hadi Sidirika – Nigeria's Minister of State for Aviation said about the process while allaying the fears of relevant stakeholders about government move to concession four airports in Nigeria.
“Public-Private-Partnership and concession in the airports have never been done in a structured and transparent manner,” he had said.
“The contracts are not properly prepared, no risk analysis and no financial models. Consequently, it is not surprising that they ended in litigation. I want to assure stakeholders that we will be transparent and the concession is in the best interest of the country.
“We will ensure that Nigerians are given priority in getting jobs in the aviation sector. We will give adequate time for the airlines to prepare themselves but for sure, we will ensure that it happens soonest.”

The concession of the terminal two of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA 2) in 2007 is the first and only concessional arrangement in the history of Nigeria’s aviation industry.
