Goldman Sachs bought a money-management app. The investment bank bought Clarity Money, a personal-finance startup, to bolster its Marcus online lending business, Reuters reports, citing a Goldman release. Terms were not disclosed.

Here are the US counties where more people are being born than dying. Idaho's Madison County saw the biggest population increase from natural change, or the difference between births and deaths, from 2016 to 2017, adding 25.3 people per 1,000, according to the US Census Bureau.

Stock markets around the world trade mixed. China's Shanghai Composite (-1.53%) was hit hard in Asia, and Germany's DAX (+0.18%) leads in Europe. The S&P 500 is set to open up 0.58% near 2,672.

US economic data picks up. Empire Manufacturing and retail sales will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET before the NAHB Housing Market Index crosses the wires at 10 a.m. ET. The US 10-year yield is up 3 basis points at 2.85%.
