Here's the scoop on the inspiration behind her look and how to DIY it.

Henson's first Allure cover shoot took place at Gilded Lily, a nightclub in New York City.

The hair inspiration for the shoot was disco-era Diana Ross, in 1974.

There wasn't enough time to let Henson's hair air-dry, so hairstylist Garren used a wig.

To get a similar look, apply a rich conditioner to wet hair, rinse well, and let it air-dry.

Gently rake through the hair with a wide-tooth comb to separate the curls.

Makeup artist Hung Vanngo, touched up Henson's eye shadow, blending a reddish-purple cream blush on her cheeks with his fingers.

To create her rust-colored smoky eyes, he dabbed on champagne and copper cream shadows, penciled chocolate-brown liner around her eyes, and tapped on a sheer, nude lipstick.
