When makeup artist Rea Ann Silva launched the Beautyblender in 2003, she changed the way we view makeup brushes.

With the release of the brand's new Blotterazzi, a tool that does the job of a blotting paper but in a reusable sponge format, she just may have changed the face of blotting, as well.

The Blotterazzi is made of the same pink material we know and love, and two sponges come in a conveniently mirrored compact.

Each one lasts 60 days with proper cleaning, so that's four months' worth of blotting.

Makeup artist Nick Barose is a fan and has this to say.

"It's the best way to refresh and retouch," he says. "The texture of the sponge absorbs oil so that when you blot the shine away, it leaves skin looking fresh without interrupting your makeup."

Plus, unlike a typical paper sheet, the Blotterazzi is the perfect shape for the contours of your face.

"The pointy part makes it easy to reach hard-to-reach areas, like inner corners of eyes, eyelids, and that small space between your brows and nose," Barose says.

"The big round bottom part of the sponge is great for wider areas, like your forehead and cheeks."

While we still love our blotting papers and feel oddly satisfied seeing the oil they absorb, we're excited to put one of these in our bags as a chic and environmentally friendly alternative.

The Blotterazzi will be available nationwide beginning in September 2015.

Here's a clip on how to get the best from the Blotterazzi.
