The quest for the famed philosopher's stone has got nothing on the average woman's quest for an all-round more beautiful self.

From luscious locks and a stylish wardrobe to flawless skin, the beauty quest of the average woman is never-ending. But inspite our best intentions sometimes, there are a few stumbling blocks that stop us from achieving our beauty goals. What's even more interesting is that often times, we are the architects of our 'mishap'.

So what are some of these habits we need to stop in order to attain an even more beautiful self? Check on them.

  1. Sleeping with make-up: Ladies, we can't overemphasise this. You're literarily speeding up the aging process and appearance of wrinkles every time you do this. If you're too tired to take a shower when you get home, then by all means please get facial wipes to clean off the make-up.

  2. Switching beauty products: This is another no-no. It's not unusual to find folks switch products the moment they sense said product may not be working. However, most beauty products actually require a period of time before the effects start to kick in. So, patience ladies and give your skin cells a break.

  3. Daily wear of foundation: Ladies show some mercy on your skin this year and let the foundation take a lil backseat. This is not to say that the use of foundation is bad, however when its used on a DAILY basis, then its not very ideal. The effect on the skin is unhealthy to say the least.

  4. Relaxing your hair tip: What shall it profit a gal to attain few inches of length from relaxing the tip of the hair only to lose it all to breakage? Relaxing the tip of the hair is a most unhealthy move as it weakens the hair tips leading to breakage. So ensure you tell your stylist to focus only on the hair undergrowth.
